The planning practice at Behan Planning and Design is rooted in principles of smart growth and sustainability, and we are dedicated to the wise stewardship of historic, cultural, and environmental resources.

It is our belief that public investments in infrastructure, transportation, and public spaces, as well as the establishment of rules and regulations to manage change, must be guided by a community’s vision as established through a participatory planning process. Public outreach is critical to success. As a small firm of dedicated professionals, we enjoy getting to know the needs and aspirations of the people with whom we work.

Graphic visualization techniques are used to help people understand and envision the potential impacts of the various choices that their community faces.

We also recognize that private investment and entrepreneurship must be embraced and harnessed toward achieving the community’s goals. Community planning, therefore, must bring stakeholders together toward a common purpose.
