Westfield-Ripley Waterfront Opportunity Plan

The Town of Westfield, the Town of Ripley, and their joint Waterfront Committee, welcome you to the Westfield-Ripley Waterfront Opportunity Plan webpage! This page will be continually updated throughout the course of this project to provide important information such as the dates of public meetings, work products and project updates.

What is an Opportunity Plan?

The Opportunity Plan is, first and foremost, a "visioning document," the main purpose of which is to identify issues and opportunities and to develop community consensus for the lakefront area and its major tributaries (20-Mile Creek and Chautauqua Creek).  This vision can consist of both an overall vision for the waterfront (How should it look in the future?  How should it be used?  What do we like it about it now?  What could be improved?), as well as specific ideas and plans for particular areas or projects within the larger waterfront area. A summary narrative describing the study area can be found here.

A Clear Plan Positions the Community to Receive Funding, Make Future Decisions, Implement Projects and Maximize the Benefits of the Lakefront for the Local Community…

Project sponsored by the New York State Department of State with Funds Provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.  Matching funds, in the form of in-kind services, have been contributed by Chautauqua County and the Towns of Westfield and Ripley.
