Town of Wallkill Zoning Amendments

On July 26, 2007 the Town of Wallkill zoning code and district map was updated and amended with substantial changes which cover approximately 8,950 acres of land area within the Town. These changes include the removal of the existing "Manufacturing and Industrial" (MI) and "Planned Interchange Development" (PID) zoning districts. Those districts have been replaced, in whole or in part, with new "Enterprise" (ENT), "Light Enterprise" (ENT-L), "Office and Research" (O/R), "Town Center" (TC) and "Low Density Agricultural" (RA-1) districts. In addition, the existing "Highway Commercial" (HC) district has been revised and replaced in some areas by "Light Enterprise", the "Performance Overlay" (POD) district has been modified, new landscaping standards have been created for developments seeking site plan review, and many of the existing district boundaries throughout the Town, including residential areas, have been modified.
